For example, if you are a family of five, including children and an elderly parent, and have dogs, you will probably not be interested in the two bedroom condo with no yard and lots of stairs. Maybe you need a separate apartment for the in-law, plus of course a fenced yard for the dogs. Do you need a multi-car garage? These are all important factors for your family. But for one or two people, that condo we mentioned may be perfect.

If you have school age children, you probably are interested in the quality of the neighborhood schools. Maybe it is the activities in the area, public transportation, shopping, or any number of things that contribute to your quality of life.

Of course the first factor in matching a home is the price range. This is why it is so important to have your loan approval in place before you start looking.
